What’s That Noise? is an on-going series that focuses on select female* artists of the past, recognising and cherishing those who pushed musical and societal boundaries and whose stories and music deserve to be heard.

What’s That Noise? is a research project, a radio show, a music performance series and a listening workshop directed and hosted by Sandhya Daemgen

Sandhya Daemgen scours books, articles, record shops and interviews, as well as conducts global conversations to find and rediscover past female* artists and musicians. She focuses on those who have been overlooked by history, whose significance has been forgotten and whose struggles and triumphs, personally and artistically, have led us to where we are today.

It is time for us to celebrate and pay tribute to those whose shoulders we stand on.
